Julian Rodriguez

I am Julian Rodriguez, I am 21 years old and I am Mexican/Peruvian. I have been doing art since I was 3 years old and was raised by a single mother. I am consistently looking for new opportunities and lessons to challenge myself to grow as an individual and an artist. I currently am taking classes at CCSF, working at Literacy for Environmental Justice (LEJ) and operate a business with my sister called 4Life, which is a main platform for my art.

I am a Bayview resident, I have lived in Hunters Point Bayview since I was 1 years old. My current art studio is located in the Bayview (Shipyard) as well. I enjoy the views, history, and knowledge that comes with the Bayview. Growing up in the Bayview, has been one of my biggest inspirations as an artist through seeing the community dynamics along community obstacles including police and environmental injustices. I look forward to continuing my art while preserving, honoring and adding a positive impact to the Bayview community.

My most recent work regarding the Bayview was a painting for STAR’s Hard Hat Hero’s art show, depicting work done in the Bayview specifically with restoration work within the community.
